The term chassis is used to denote the complete vehicle expect the body and incorporates all the major units such as frame work , engine , and power train and several other systems including the suspension system , the steering system , the brake system , etc. There are different arrangements by which engine power is transmitted to the wheels : Front engine Rear wheel drive , Front engine Front wheel drive ,Rear engine Rear wheel drive , Four wheel drive .Classification of Chassis on the basis of wheel base size is based on the distance. The two types of Frame construction are : Conventional frame also known as non load carrying frame , Unitized frame also known as integral frame. Thus in this section we have seen about the Chassis layout and frames in engines.
