Workouts that are challenging and intense can make a person smart, say recent researches. Scientist at the University of Muenster, Germany, studied the effects of exercising and sprinting on brain function. They found that those who ran 2-3 minutes sprints with a 2 minute break in between learnt new words 20% faster than those who took more rest. Researchers have concluded that activities such as sprinting and weight training that increase the blood flow from the heart to the brain, encourage growth in areas of brain that control planning, memory and multi tasking.
