Looters in ships are called as pirates. They loot ships that cross the ocean taking anything they find in the ship if they are valuable even a little. They chase the ship loaded with people and goods. They take in prisoners along with them sometimes.They also torture people sometimes.Piracy has been dominating the seas till people used the oceans as the major trade routes. only those who rob over oceans are called pirates.Those who rob on land are termed as thieves or robbers.Pirates were in existence for many centuries till the 19th century started to become more modern eliminating pirates to the maximum. These pirates are always considered rebellious in nature just pounding upon any vessel they come across. They hijack the ship sometimes and take all the passengers as slaves. The treasure that pirates consider other than jewels are food, clothes, alcohol and many other household items and also weapons. Most of them hijack the ship and sell it at a good price or sometimes they keep it for themselves if they find the ship better than the one they own. And they always keep their treasure in an island far off and they either hide in a cave or bury it deep under the land.
