Two systems help the body's parts and organs to work together. One is the nervous system and the other is the endocrine system based on body chemical called hormones. There are more than 50 different hormones in our body. Each hormone is made in a gland.It can be said as each hormone is secreted in a gland. These hormones flow around the blood stream and affect certain cells, tissues and organs.The hormones can cause these organs to work faster or slower or release their products. For example adrenaline from the adrenal gland makes the heart to beat faster and more blood flow to the muscles , so the body is ready for action.The pituitary gland near the brain makes the hormones that control other hormonal glands. The male has a hormone called androgen and the female has a hormone called oestrogen, which are secreted at the male and female reproductive organs respectively. The thyroid gland near the throat is another important gland.It over hyper secretion can cause obesity. The adrenaline is mostly released during the time of stress and emergency.
