When was the last time you bought something and go something free with it? my guess would be the last time you went shopping. The consumer market has changed drastically now and most companies are giving something free with their products. And we, the naïve consumers get fooled by these market tactics and end up paying extra cash for that single product only because we are getting something free with it. but if you stop for a minute and think about it you will realize that you are actually paying extra for the product. How so? Well first the main product is on MRP and not on discount. For example take a packet of sugar cubes, these cubes may have a price of say 10 $, to improve sales the company gives you a product X worth 1$ with it. This means that you are getting 11$ worth of products for 10$. But what we fail to realize over here is that most people don’t even need the free product that these companies give. Suppose the same sugar cubes can be bought for 8$ from another company which doesn’t give a free product you end up saving 2$. This is just a low estimate, every month you can save loads of cash by doing this. Always go for a discount sale if the free product isn’t worth much or if it isn’t of any use to it. Who will pay extra for a product they aren’t going to use?
