In a dastardly act the Taliban division of Pakistan blew up four schools in the swat region of the country. Thankfully the schools were closed and no one was injured, the schools were empty due to the winter break. This act of blowing up schools comes as a shock to the civilized work where people believe that education is an important part of life. The militants blew up 2 girls’ school and 2 boys’ schools, all four schools were government run schools. The education minister has vowed to reopen the school by the time the winter break ends which is the first week of March. He has also promised to rebuild everything and instill a sense of confidence and security among the children who will be attending classes. The Taliban are a notorious bunch of militants who believe that the women’s place is at home and that they do not need education nor do they have to work. Their job is to make sure that the household work gets done. This ancient thinking has proved to be a big problem for the government of Pakistan because of the decreasing literacy rate. Lets hope that the Pakistan government finds a way to stop these militants soon.
