The items you need to purchase include the primary software -Pro tools, along with the digidesign hardware such as digital midi controllers to connect your instruments to your computer, firewire ports that act as the interface between your computer and the controllers. Pro tools is very simple to use and has a very user friendly interface which lets you hook up with up to 16 tracks on the basic version. You get to choose on individual tracks on the different inputs that have been configured on to your midi controllers and record them individually at any bit-rate that you want. After the recording session users get to overlap, cut, copy and paste or add any affect they want into the original track or synthesize and process the sound with the available plug-ins (license needs to be purchased separately) and you’re all set to make you dream covers come true.
