We all have heard about the LTTE and how it has become a terrorist organization, but the organization is now about to fall after facing massive defeat against the Sri Lankan army. The army has routed out all the forward posts of the LTTE and has managed to corner them to one small part. The attack began late in 2008 and has continued. The search for Prabhakaran the leader of the group has not yet given positive results; the government believes that the leader of the terrorist organization has fled.

The army has been trying to route them out since 1990 after the Indian peace keeping force left. The recent change in strategy and equipment upgrade they were able to capture the key A9 high way which has been critical to the LTTE’s defenses. The LTTE started fighting with the government to establish a separate state within Sri Lanka for the Tamil population that lives there. This war has resulted in large scale civilian loss and the government had no other options than to go to war with them. it looks as if the LTTE ’s days are numbered with the army destroying each of their defensive posts in a matter of hours.
