The best video that I have so far seen on the internet which really interests me is the one where the firemen of a specific place use a couple of hoses and a platform and use it to lift a car that weighs almost 4000 pounds. This video looked so realistic that I started collecting facts about whether it was possible or not. What I found out was that it really was possible and that even the Myth busters had a special episode trying out this same video. What they did was that a frame was made with 10 connections for the hoses. They used a reducer to increase the pressure at the ends. This frame was strong enough to hold a mid size car without the engine. The engine alone weighs around 500 pounds and it was necessary to remove it to even out the weight of the car. Later the firemen attached their cables and released the water. The initial pressure that was seen wasn’t enough to even lift the weight, but as they increased the pressure of the water we could see that the frame was rising and this was due to the force the water exerted in the opposite direction. As the pressure was increased the car rose higher and was airborne for a full 45 sec which is quite an amazing feat and shows what one can do with a good knowledge of physics. Why did they do it? Because they could.
