Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or AIDS is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to man kind. No one knows the actual origin of this dreadful thing, but history has it that this disease started spreading when one man consummated with a monkey. A far fetched story with no evidence to back it up. Science has it that this could have spread due to improper practices during sex and other medical treatments. Not using a condom during sex has been the main reason for the spread of AIDS; also drug users who use the same needle tend to get AIDS. Currently there is no cure for this, the working of the disease is such that it attacks the immune system very slowly and finally renders it useless. This means that the body has no immunity to any type of disease, a person can die due to a common cold. There are some medicines known as cocktails or a mixture of expensive drugs that can help to slow down the spread of this but not sure it. The only way to cure AIDS is to invest more into research and spread knowledge about who and how this disease spreads. Stopping the spread of AIDS should be our top priority since this is the cause for millions of deaths world wide. It’s next only to cancer and smoking related stuff.
