Nokia is all set and ready to launch its much awaited touch phone – the Nokia 5800 Xpress music. Aimed at the market share currently dominated by the Apple iPhone, this gadget that is capable of 60 languages is strategically priced much lower than its competition. Its high resolution screen and its overall appearance make it look very much like the apple iPhone. Another feature added by nokia is its very own Music store, once more aimed at challenging Apple’s dominance in this field too.
This multifunctional device has the ability to play a variety of Audio and video formats a feature that apple failed to incorporate. This phone with a 16GB expandable memory utilises the symbian s60 platform unveiled by Nokia recently. Nokia claims a standby time of 17 days for this device with a 35 hour music playback ability. It has two cameras with the maximum pixels being 3.2mp. It comes with built-in surround stereo speakers, Nokia Maps, GPS, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone socket. The accelerometer makes viewing videos a pleasure. However, the biggest drawback of this phone has to be the inability to download extra utilities which is possible both in the iPhone and the googleG1.
Like the latest Samsung and Blackberry devices this too offers 3G support. Personally this device looks like a clear winner to me.
