The ideapad u330 is a new portable laptop introduced by Lenovo. It packs some serious power in a small package. Based on the new montevina range of Intel core 2 duo mobile processors, these laptops feature ddr3 ram, huge hard disk space, hybrid graphics system of an on board Intel hd4500 system for better battery life as well as a ATI hd3450 for better 3d performance and gaming. It uses 13.3” frame a concept pioneered by apple as the perfect compromise of power and portability compared to 12 and 14” laptops. The display is a gorgeous led back lit WXGA display with terrific viewing angles. It also features Intel’s pro wireless connection and a 6 cell battery that promises to dish out nearly 5 hours of battery life.
The ideapad is Lenovo’s attempt to make a distinction between its business oriented Thinkpad lines and to have a funky looking consumer notebook. The u330 with its glossy black finish and glossy screen succeeds in part. It’s not a funky dell or Sony but its certainly not those dull black bricks that those balding folk carry. The biggest selling point for it is its sweet price. A mid level laptop at the price of low end is certainly something good.
